Thumping Noise!!(experts Needed) I have a 98 Z-28, A4,FRA,Lid,EGR MOD etc stock suspension stock rear end
Took it to the track 6 months ago, and ran it once. After the run I heard this
thumping sound coming from the rear. Its really noticeable in first gear when
I'm at a stop light. It will thump through 1st gear then it stop in 2nd. Also,
uphill its really noticeable. Also, when I hit a bump in the road I can feel the
back wheels jump just alittle.I have ok tires but I spin really bad off the line, it
catches though. Tranny shifts good from 1st to OD, its just that D#@$
Thumping.Question: What does this sound like?? (wheel hop, torque arms,
upper lower control arms, rear end shot GOD NO, or something else)

Have you looked at it? Have you checked under the car? ie driveshaft bolts, yoke in diff, panhard bar bolts, shocks bolts etc? Anything loose or broke? Have you ever changed your rear end fluid? How many miles do you have?
if its the trans. mount just get a poly. one.... they are cheaper than the dealer and last way longer..... part # 47-7-1604 at http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...&vid=3&pcid=92

Definitely could be the torque arm mount. I have a stock torque arm mount with an almost new poly bushing already installed in it if you are interested we could work something out. Helps reduce wheel hop a good bit.
