Default 25mm rear swaybar how will car behave?

I heard and been told a 25mm rear swaybar may be too big. What is the reason why? How will the car react? What is the negative and postive effects of having this size rear sway bar? I am getting a 35mm front swaybar soon and would like to know thanks.

A larger rear swaybar will make the car oversteer too much. Sam Strano has a good set of swaybars and he knows his suspension.

25mm rear sway bar equals oversteer (dukes of hazzard style).

I have Spohn one on my car with no problems actually helped keep the car straight when the car launches. But then again I have QA1's on all four corners and launch springs up front so I don't take corners fast anymore.

I guess i shouldnt get this size sway bar. The rear end of my car Whips out way more after i put the H/C in and i dont like that happening i rather the car grip instead of doing a drift.

Chris,

It's too big for handling use, and I think you said they were closing your drag strip so you were going to be moving towards a handling setup. So, I'd stick to a 21mm 1LE bar or a 22mm hollow Strano bar for the rear, but I'd put a 35mm front bar on at the same time. They work well as a set for handling applications.

Yea the strip is closing at the end of this year. What size is the stock bar? I just wiped the h/c out of the list. Im on to more suspension. The car seems like it will kick out the rear very eaisly while turning under heavy throttle and after the H/C install i think its time to focus on suspension mainly now. Kevin thanks for the reply.

The stock rear bar is a 19mm, but the stiffness increases by the change in diameter to the fourth power, so, you can make a pretty big change without going very far in diameter. A 21mm solid is a considerable amount stiffer than a 19. I'm only running a 22mm hollow rear bar on my car now (similar to a solid 21mm, but 6 lbs lighter). I did have a 25mm on my car a while back, and it was just too much.

Just my thoughts.
