Default Umi Crossmember Torque Arm

Just got my T/A installed and know I hear a bang knocking noise under the car. It happens mostly when I brake or go over bumps. Any help would be great. The T/A is adjustable so could it be too loose??

As for th eone you have good luck all tunnel mount torque arms seem to be plagued by the same problem

I am not sure on the other brands but there should be no noise issues with our torque arm. There may be a slight increase in road noise when using polyurethane bushings and this just all depends on how sensitive you are.

The bang or clunk is a good sign the front pivot bolts are not tight enough. Double check your torque settings, if they are not correct re-torque them. If they are correct torque then a additional 10-20 ft lbs. This should eliminate the cause of this. Also make sure ALL bolts are tight, this includes the (2) bolts attaching the torque arm to the rear end as well as the (2) bolts attaching the torque arm to the rear bracket and all jam nuts.

I personally run our tunnel brace mounted torque arm on both of my cars, both are daily drivers. I have encountered no additional road noise ect. Some simple tweaking should be any easy fix for this.

Hope that helps!
Ryan
