Default Replacing rotors...need help

Ok, So am replacing rotors, brakes today and I cant get the damn rotors off. Is there something I am missing here?

After I take the caliper off the rotor should just slide off the spindle right?

Maybe after some beating on it possibly?

Let me know...

Yeah, I have had to beat on mine with a rubber mallet before to get them off. If they have been on there for a long time they tend to get stuck on there. Nothing abnormal about it.

I think I had little groved washer things over some of the studs, you get those off too?

mabey i missed something but you are talking about rear rotors and not fronts right? rears should come right off, fronts you have to pull the hub, take out the kotter key remove nut.

Huh? You talking 3rd gen or 4th gen? Regardless, there is NOTHING holding the rotors on, on a 4th gen. They are sandwiched between the wheel and the studs. That is why proper torque and the "star" method is so imortant when putting your wheels on.

Sweet!
After getting off of work today I came home checked the forum and went pounding away.

There were no nuts on the rotors but they have to be original because of the condition they were in.

I used a 15lb weight and pounded the **** out of them untill they popped off. Hopefully I didnt hurt anything else while doing that much pounding. It took a good half-hour to get the fronts off. Tomorrow I am going to finish up the fronts and start on the backs.

Thanks Guys!
