Default Brake recommendation and how much $$$

Which brake system would be best for my car(see sig.) I plan on 18" all around and brakes will be one of the last things I do. I've heard of Baer and Wilwood....what other options are there...or are these the best? How much am I looking at?

As far as engine setup, I plan on a stroker, AFR's, supercharger.......probably 600+rwhp. So, stopping power and handling is my main goal.

go into the sponsor section, there is a company that is selling slotted and crossdrilled rotors and pads for 299 and shipping is free. they also come zinc coated. these are the powerstop rotors and usually run around 100-120 bucks apiece for just the rotor. very good deal.

that may not be the optimal choice to stop the car. slotted and drilled rotors and pads arent going to be much better than stock if at all due to the fact that friction is directly related to surface area and drilling takes away from the surface area. atleast thats usually the debate on here. I''m waiting to see how the c6z06 brake parts are gonna be pricewise, 14" front rotors and 6 piston calipers, 4 pistons for the back, thats probably a little bigger than wilwood and baer f-body big brake kits which i think are 13.x" front rotors.

Im throwin down these in a set of 18" Fikse FM10's.........

AP Racing 6 piston racing calipers, with the full floating 14"x1.50" slotted 2 pc rotor:

Call me at ATS for pricing (Vendor tagg on the right>>>>>>). They are cheaper than Baer monoblock 6 pistons, half the weight of the same and near half the cost..... with better all around performance.

What do you plan on doing in the car? Unless you plan on allot of hard open track or open road usage, then a simple C5 rotor swap, good pads and ducting is all I think you would need. I bought a set of LG Motor sports caliper relocation brackets, a set of Hawk HP Plus pads and rigged up some brake ducting. I have something like 500 bucks in the whole thing. It isn't impressive to look at {which to tell you the truth in one of the main reasons do big brakes I think} but this 500$ setup won a 0-60-0 contest at sponsored by Stainless Steel Brake and Year One. I had one 60-0 stop that was 100 feet long, the other two stops were in the 102-104 range if I remember right. The next quickest stopping car was a Evo with a 104 foot stop and a Viper that had a big brake kit on it I think, it had a stop of something like 106 or 108 feet I think.

If you are really going to beat on the car {real road racing, serious open track usage or some Silver State type open road stuff} then you might need to look into something a bit more serious and a good bit more expensive.

FWIW I plan on using the Stoptech kit outfitted with the ST-45 calipers in oposition to the ST-40. With the ST-45 ill be able to run a porsche pad that you can get almost anywhere.
