Default Is welding required to install qa1 rear coilover

I am looking at getting the rear qa1 coilover kit for my TA. Who has installed this and can tell me what is required to do it. Is there any WELDING required? Also how do you like the coilover compared to the conventional setup?

I know that the Spohn QA1 kit requires you to weld an upper support plate in. Should be no big deal. I don't think that a whole lot of people are running this set up yet.

Yes.... the upper shock mounting plates need to be welded.
I like mine a lot. Like the adjustable ride height. Very usefull when going w/different tire heights/widths.

I did the front shocks/springs as well as rear. Ride's stiff but that's what I was after. The 12 way QA1's do their thing well-

Really easy install other than the upper plate welding.... didn't have a lift so trying to weld up in that tight hole on jackstands sucked(will have the slag scars for life )

Thanx for the heads up guys. As far as the welding goes I only have an arc welder do you think that will work? Or do you need a wire feed or mig?
