Default tranny mounted VS tunnel mounted...

With torque arms, at what point would you stop using a tranny mounted torque arm? This only makes a difference when you laungh hard right? I guess power matters too? I read somewhere that the tranny mounted torque arms can go upto 11.0 on the quarter, and not recomended beyond. But say you had a car with a ton of power, but only cut a 1.6 60'. The tranny mounted torque arm would survive right?

Most of the incidents of tailhousing breakage I've seen
mentioned, have to do with steel driveshafts that are
overspun. Very rarely do you see aluminum-driveshaft
cars break tailhousings.

I just put on a crossmember that relocates the TA mount.
Now all my stuff in the console rattles like mad. Need to
settle that down, probably make myself some isolating
pads and sandwich it. It appears the previous owner had
the same idea, some foam rubber was stuck to the piece
when I got it.

I'm not even in the 12s but it seemed like a good idea
(plus I wanted the instant center adjustability, though I
have no clue where it is now or where I intend to put it).

mine make so much more noise. Seems there are more issues with the non tranny mounted than with the tranny mounted one. If its slightly off, your gonna get clunks and wheel hop like crazy! Im trying to fix it right now. Dont know what happened, but got mad crazy wheel hop now I do however have to admit that when its adjusted properly, it hooks awsome!!! I have a spohn non tranny mounted adj. TA.

On Spohn's website, it used to be posted, back when I bought mine, that the trans mounted TA was good to a 10.9 ET, or somewhere there in the high 10's. I just checked because I was going to post it, but I see it no longer says anything about the limit of it.
