Default bear GT+ brake kit

i was looking to purchase the GT+ brake kit and was told its the same as thing as having a C5 caliper with an eriadispeed rotor. if this is the case i can just get the rotor and the caliper through GMPartdDirect and it wouldnt cost anything near 800 bucks..... am i on the right track or did i just hear wrong...

Ya, the Baer GT+ and C5 caliper are the same. They are both a PBR dual piston caliper. Also you'll need the C5 brake conversion brackets if you want to put the C5 calipers on...(obviously).

And you can go to any O'Reilly's and buy a rotor or a brake pad.

Does O'Reilly's or AZ or NAPA carry BAER products? I'm sure they might beable to order them, but you need to look at the cost to do so

C5 rotors through NAPA are under $40 each and I have seen GM Durastop C5 rotors for $20 each ...

Rotors of common size will not affect "stopping power" from one rotor to the next.

And if LS1.com were still alive, you could go back and see where it only took me about 30 minutes to split a KVR rotor ... not crack, split ... from the edge to the bolt hole.

You should be able to get into a C5 upgrade kit complete for $800 ...

Contact trackbird off line and ask him if he knows of any kits available ...

If not, I have a set of Bishop brackets, rotors, PABs and pads I would sell for $600 and you can source your own calipers ... typically under $200 for the pair. everything is new in the box ... never been used. Been sitting on the shelf for almost a year!

When I sold my Porsche brakes I was going back to the C5 kit. But the stock brakes are just fine for a street car ....
