Thumbs up UMI parts installed! PICS...

They've been installed for about a week now. The car feels tight and like it just wanna go straight, but there's a little of vibration and the t/a is hitting the floor, actually it made a gash/cut about 2" long . And the Spohn sway bar is touching the shocks too. I'll be getting an aligment tomorrow and I hope it makes a difference.

Looks great. I just installed my 3pt umi and tunnel mounted torque arm, and I think i ran into some problems. I have a bad clunking noise while going into reverse and also shifting into different gears. Noises from under the console and rear, reminds me of a bucking sound too. Sounds like I need to adjust the pinion angle better. Since it is my daily driver, I might opt for switching out for a stock or non adjustable torque arm for daily driving applications. I have a 2000 z28 m6 with no mods except for the 3pts, and the tunnel mounted T/a. Any suggestions 2001 ss? I noticed you also ran different hardware than the suppied kit for the crossbrace. Any info as to why? (i felt that the hardware might have been a little on the short when running the 3pts. but it worked for me.
Any advice would be appreciated.
PS. I have searched on the related Topic, but don't now what the typical noises should sound like.

Well I got my aligment done today and to be honest w/you it feels/rides the same, no it doesn't pull to the right no more, but I guess I'm gonna have to get use to this vibration/road noise. Does yours vibrates/tranfers noise a lot? Mine is pretty bad in 4th at around 4k RPM. And all those noises is the t/a hitting/touching the floor will still be there when adjusting the pinion angle but not that much. Yeah I change the hardware because since I already have the SFC the supplied bolts were a little too short for me. If you can't get over the noises/vibration you'll have to get a stock style one.

they kept saying no noise. here are two examples that tunnel mounts are loud. everyone knocked the spohn t/a, it is one beefy mf'er. its clanks a little, but there is just no way to quiet them down. the UMI piece does look nice though.

I personally get no noises issues out of this exact same set-up, I run it 80 miles a day to work and back and have this installed on (2) different drivers. I also run a Moser 12-Bolt 4.56 with Kook LT's and no cats, some miminal noises would be hard to hear though.

I think with some extra adjusting you can quiet it down some. The pinion angle will cause some viubration. You may find it has to be set at 0 degrees to clear all that up, it depends on the application. Also some extra road noise most likely will come from the newly installed rear end. Also depending on the rear-end type/brand it will most cases cause the torque arm to sit closer in the tunnel which is where some rubbing can come from.

Hope that helps!
Ryan

I did remove the rear springs isolator but did use heater hose, would this cause any vibration?

That shouldn't....mine with 3 degrees of negative angle vibrated in 5th gear pretty bad...I'll have to think about it. Is that a 9" installed?

All together I'm happy with the UMI weld in subframes. They tuck in nicely. The UMI TA is definately a sturdy piece. I tried adjusting the torque arm today, I believe the bucking for the most part has gone away. I could hear "clunking" I assume from the rod ends. But rather than using an angle finder (which i should) I "eyeballed" the angle. Should I just purchase an anglefinder and adjust it as soon as possible? I believe an incorrect pinion angle can cause premature rear axle wear due to the "binding." Any suggestions Ryan or Red01ss?

It's a Moser 12 bolt.
