Rubbing sound and Low Traction light?? (ASR)
97 Z28 A4
Lately when i am driving somewhat consistantly over 60 mph (like on the freeway) and then have to come to a stop, right before i come to a stop i get this rubbing sound. Its like VVVVVvvv VVVVVvvvv VVVVVvvvv I figured it was like a warped old brake rotor and worn out pads causing this. Well today i had the ASR on, and while the rubbing was happening, i noticed that the "low trac" light comes on while its makin the rubbin sound. Before the next light, i turned off the ASR, started braking, and like before, the rubbing happend. But this time the low trac light didnt come on, due to the ASR being off.
Anyways, my questions are...What exactly has to happen for the "low trac" light to come on? I thought it was just the tires spinnin differently or somethin, but this all happend on a dry road and i was just comin to a normal stop. What do you think is causin the problem? Could be the same thing causin the horrible vibration i have at higher speeds (possible RPM related).

asr comes on when soem of the wheels don't match the others speed....thats why if you put on bigger(taller) in the back...it'll set that off because the bigger wheels are moving less than the smaller front ones.
