Bumpity bump.
Looking for some help from the biggest, baddest, and best ls1 technical resource on the net!
Need info regarding soild motor mounts. Me no care about rattling. Accounts of knock retard, why not to do motor mounts w/o tranny and torque arm as well. And I'm adding a new one in there too: I heard that solid mounts can damage soft aluminum engine or pull the bolts out of the block??
Thanks folks!

Talked to spohn about the knock sensor and they said no will not effect it. They said usually gets less knock sensor interferance from solids casue of less movement.
As for doing trans and torque arm its just better to do them and same time. Trans mount REALLY stiffens things up almost more them motor mounts, M6 cars especially. Plus stock trans mounts are rubber and with higher power numbers tend to rip. My old 87 camaro used to rip stock mounts in about 2 weeks. But if you use solid motor mounts use a poly trans it takes stress off tailshaft and keep from breaking, i know this problem was commen with older cars. Kinda new to the ls1 scene yet.
As for ripping threads from the block i doubt it as long as bolts are kept tight. I would suggest some red loctite and torque them and just keep eye on them. As long as there tight should have no problems.
I was thinking same problems but i will be ordering a set of spohn solids this week for my car.

Sorry but **** solid mounts!!! Makes everything harder! if you need to drop the trans you can't lower the tail shaft enough to get to the bell housing bolts as easy
Also they raised the motor up a little and made it hard to get to some rear spark plugs. less room for your arm to fit! I say polly!!

even pollys dont raise it as much as these did and still have some movement when you want to drop you trans and make things easier. I have installed both many times. Polly is the way to do on a street car.
