What's the difference between Carbon-Metallic and Ceramic brake pads.

Question What's the difference between Carbon-Metallic and Ceramic brake pads.

Its time for new brakes, again. I'd like something better than the stock pads from Autozone. What is the advantage/disadvantage of each (Carbon metallic V/S Ceramic). This is for a slightly modded car that will never see auto cross. I might get to the dragstrip once a year.

Thanks for any light thats gets shed onto the subject.
