If you need something like that the car HAS to be mini tubbed. Youll run into the inner fender before you run into the control arm.

What donaimian said. I'm running UMI's lca's with a 315 nitto and 9 1/2 wheel with no problems.

Actually, Billingsley Racing has a set that are offset for tire clearance.

We manufacture offset lower control arms.

Sorry Steve, I hadn't seen yours yet. I'll try to file that away for the next time.

Trackbird,

Thank you...there are probably others too...I appretiate your comments.

side note, our LCA assembly w/spacers weight references:

LCA stock=4lb 8.5oz, ours=2lb 11.5oz
PHR stock=5lb 8oz, ours=5lb 2oz

Our kits include 1/2 inch upgraded bolt components, QA1 XM series rod ends are used.

You can offset any tubular rod-end LCA's with a set of custom rod end spacers. But, as pointed out above, the tire will be rubbing on the inner fender linner at that point. Wolfe Racecraft says on their site they will soon be offering mini tubs for our 4th gens. They show some install photos, so you can get an idea what needs to be done.

For the record, you don't need to be mini-tubbed to have LCA interference issues, folks have removed bumpstops or other slight modifications to have inner fender clearance but have issues with the LCA still.

True, but you have to pound in the inner fenders a whole lot before the LCA becomes the problem, especailly if you remove that 3/16 lip from the stock LCA.

But don't missunderstand, I think adding rod-end LCA's is a great idea whether for clearance or just to make the rear suspension work better.

Cal,

You think like a road racer. I'm guessing that wheel hop/tire shake on a drag car on slicks could flex the tires in such a way that they might contact the LCA's where our tires wouldn't. Or, that's my guess.

I have heard of rubbing issues with the stock LCAs. I suppose that the boxed and poly-bushed LCAs that a lot of people apparently use for drag racing could rub too. I doubt if many people have rubbing with tubular double adjustable LCAs with rod ends.

On 17x11's with stock LCA's, I was rubbing on the autocross courses in hard corners with power on (lots of power on). I only had a bit over 1/4" of static clearance between the tire and LCA.
