Default Who has revalved Billsteins available??

I have BMR lowering springs on my car (FRONT: 310-550 lbs/in, REAR: 145-170 lbs/in) and am looking for a comparable set of shocks.

I still have the factory springs with only 10,000 miles on them, so I could always go back to a factory spring.

So, who has a decent shock in stock to fit my situation.

I can call and chat if need be to explain my goals and objectives with the car, but essentially it's a garage queen that never sees the track, nor will it ever again. I'm just looking for a more compliant ride and less weight transfer.

I don't think vendors like to stock revalved shocks because
the folks who want them, are particular about the details.
Probably going to find it's a custom order deal. Strano does
revalving based on your stated setup / application.

Off the cuff I'd say the springs want more damping, not
less, and looking for a soft ride out of that combo is a
pretty unlikely outcome. If the shock is soft enough to
help ride, it's going to be way overmatched by the springs.
I've found I like the stock rear, no donut setup in back
with my Hotchkiss fronts. Same ride height more or less
but more comfort. Back shocks/springs are easy enough
to play with.

I think Sam is the only one that does revalves. Give him a call and he will get you exactly what you need. I am very pleased with my setup.

Im guessing here..but if you knew what valving you wanted you could order them that way from the factory...

The other way is to order them from Sam..who has his own "Secrete Brew" and Im guessing he just orders them the way he wants them valved based on discussions with the person hes ordering them for..ie custom valved

...Im just guessing....

Sam Strano at stranoparts.com or something like that.

That's where I got mine, $500 for revalved fronts, standard rears. Takes 1-2 hours to install, very easy. Great bargain for money, will transform the car.

Nobody have revalves available to be shipped right now.

I do have Bilstein do my valving work. But *I* do the specs. I don't rely on them to do that, only the physical work. Up to you, but most folks are more comfortable with an f-body guy with experience and a reputation with these cars doing the specs.

Furthermore, the shocks would still have to be built, saving you NO time at all.

Could I stock up on ready-made Revalves? I could..... but I won't. And the reason is very simple. If you want something truly valved for your use, you can't use something that's be "pre-built". And, it's more involved than just what springs you have. Example: I will do different valvings for two folks with the very same springs, if the use of the car is different. If Joe autocrosses and drives the car on the street, and Bob does a little drag racing and street driving, they will NOT get the same valving.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Thanks for the clarification Sam. I understand your business practice and see no issue with you not personally 'revalving' the bilsteins.

We can talk specifics in a few days once the funds are available.

Thanks

I think summit racing carries the SLP bilsteins, which I believe are revalved. I could be wrong though.

The are not technically revalved, they are production pieces and just one valving. I also carry SLP Bilstein's as well.

The rears are standard old 4th gen HD's. Nothing at all changed. The fronts do have more rebound damping (good), but also *less* compression damping than HD's (not good).
