I'd go with either Koni or re-valved Bilsteins. Sam Strano ---> can get you lined out on what'll be best for your driving style.

Do Bilsteins need to be revalved for stock springs also? I'm thinking of picking up a set of HDs. My stock ones have 72K on them and they have to be shot.

I can swing the $329, but with revalving at $530 I would rather get Hals. This is just a daily for now. I don't go to a road race track or autox.

The regular HDs are ok for the stock springs. I wouldn't recommend the stockers or HDs with lowering springs though.

Definitely agree with you. If I was to lower or get stiffer springs I would get Konis. I just can't afford $700 for shocks right now. I'm looking for a better stock replacement shock.

I have the KYB 8 way adjustables and so far they seem to be pretty good. Only problem is that they lowered my car a half inch.

No, pay Sam to sell you the bilsteins already revalved. You don't have the experience he does in revalving, and he gets a better price than you calling Bilstein and having it done. Make sense?

yeah i checked out sam's site...those Bilstiens are not that bad in price i mean for what i will be getting (a much better feeling driving daily over my shot stock shocks...say that 3 times fast)...$500 something plus $200 for the pro kit thats affordable....

so with the revalved bilstiens and the pro kit thats all i would basically need right? there isnt any other minor parts i would need to make it a safe ride???

No, only Sam does the custom revalving to your needs. And it's worth EVERY penny when you install it and drive it!

I know it sounds like I'm on a soapbox, but after 7 years of owning this fbod, and 5 years with his setup, it's outstanding even for daily driving.

:hmm:

Depending on what you want your car to do you can end up adding a SHIAATLOAD of parts which may/may not be necessary...

Just by changing your factory shocks/springs to revalved Bilstein's/Eibach Prokit springs you will have a TOTALLY different car, you'll be SHOCKED by the difference

Do that first, see the difference, you may not want to change anything after that.

If you want more, THEN chime back in, we'll go from there.

And of COURSE talk to Sam Strano, he'll steer you the right way.

Amen to the shitload of parts. I started buying stuff in 2000 on a whim before anything was tested. 4 sets of LCA's, 2 sets of swaybars, 4 exhausts, blah blah blah. Listen to Carlos, buy the shocks and springs then get back. Although I will say the 35mm bar really kicks but on these cars . The 21mm rear bar is not for everyone, depends on driving style and what you'll do with it and what diff you're running. Myself I love rod ends on the LCA's and panhard bar but again, not for everyone.

Honestly i would go with the re-valved bilstiens and a Hotckis or BMR spring setup, instead of the prokit. I had the sportlines and they really were shitty. But not to sure on the prokit.
