Default Hotchkis or BMR Lowering Springs?????

I only want a 1" drop and these two seem to be my choices. I am more interested in looks and ride than just pure handling. I drive on pretty good roads that are twisty and can offer lots of fun. This is not a DD and see's maybe 5-6K per year. I do not want a cheap setup I want a good functional setup. Opinions please. I have UMI SFCs,LCAs & Adjustable PHB running 18x9 with 275/40/18

I personally have the BMR springs and love them to death. They settled to just a hair over a 1" drop, and I couldn't ask for better looks or handling.

Just did the Hotchkis/Koni install a couple weeks ago, rides & handles great!

Fender lip measuring straight up the center of the wheel is 26 3/4" if that helps.

if ur gonna drop ur car, no matter what spring, u need to replace the shocks. u'll have one of the worst riding cars on the street if u leave factory shock on. IMO get Koni or revalved Bilsteins from Sam Strano. I just ordered Koni SA's and I have Hochkis springs. the car does handle better BUT the shocks SUCK when lowered, I hate the ride quality...that's why I went to Sam for what I should do.

Hotchkis published rates are a bit softer than BMR rates. Having seen both springs and driven both on cars with good shocks I can comfortably say the working rates on the Hotchkis are a touch softer as well.

And softer would be a little bit better for launching at the track, right?

Sam what I am looking for is a better look and handling car. I do not drive it that hard but on those rare occasions I want to know it can do it. I do not enjoy the drag strip so that is not a concern. I do drive the "Tail of the Dragon" couple times a year and will be trying Road Atlanta with our club in August. Other than that it is a weekend cruiser that gets between 5-6K a year on it. I also do not want the ride to be so harsh my wife hates to get in the thing. Am I asking for to much? I know I need to pick up the phone and call you.

You do need to pick up the phone and call me. First off there is a lot of misinformation out there. There is also a lot of information lacking (like working spring rates of some items mentioned in this thread-*very recently*). I'm not one to slap parts on because they are cheap (or is that "cheep"), or because of their "better" stance which is relative and has nothing to do with a suspension that works properly.

I'm not entirely sure once I talk to you that I'd ever recommend lowering springs.....

I'd go with the Koni SA and the Hotchkis springs, I did this set up along with numerous other suspension parts last december. I ordered the springs and shocks from sam and everything else from thunder racing. Your style of driving sounds alot like mine. The nice thing about the Koni SA's is that you can adjust them for your mood. If you wanna granny it out then go full soft, or if you feel like running an auto x comp go all out hard or anywhere in between. I'd go with the Hotchkis springs over the BMR just because it's a better product. They droped my car about 1.25". The look of the car is unmatched with my 17x9.5 torque thrust II's.
