I was looking at some info on a brake pads page,
and for the first time saw pads' "mu" (friction
coefficient) rated. That was interesting, I figure
when it's time I want to replace stockers with some
pad type that has higher friction but modestly so,
and nothing with a lower cold friction than stock.
Of course I have no idea about the stockers' mu
value so this makes it hard to gauge the rest,
relative.
Wondering if anyone has compiled a list of the
various pads and friction (cold, hot) values, like
there has been done for spring rates and to a
lesser extent, shocks.

Excellent thread start, and I have some figures of pad material Mu around, however they're racing pads. As soon as I can retrieve most of the figures for available pads (track, street, or combination thereof) I'll post, provided that someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Friction numbers aren't the whole story.... kind of like a car can pull a lot of G's but drive like ***. Friction numbers don't tell you the release characteristics, the density of the pad material (which leads to a soft pedal) and so on.
Also, those numbers can be much like tire wear ratings in so far as they aren't necessarily equal among different companies.
