Default Lifespan of rack&pinion with 17x9 275's

My friend was telling me that with my power steering bypassed I will not be able to drive long with my big heavy front tires.He said it will it will explode the gear because of the force I would be putting on the car.This sounds correct to me but I just want to hear it from someone else.Thanx fellas.

With 275s you will want to keep the power steering.
