Many blame wheel lug torque and it is important.
But I have a theory that is based upon temperature shock.
Driving along for 20 minutes at 80mph and then hit an off ramp without slowing much and jam on the brakes for a turn or stop light ... and then a repeat ...
Driving along for 20 minutes at 80mph and then hit an off ramp without slowing much and jam on the brakes, stop and wait for green and the whole while the hot pads are pressed against the hot rotor ... in a small aera while the rest of the rotor cools ...
Cut a 2.0 60', through the traps at 108 or so mph and jam on the brakes to make the first turn in and then ease up to the staging lanes and wait 20 minutes for the next round only to repeat over and over ...
All that temperature shock and dissimilar cooling make metal do funny things ...
Just a theory ....
