Re: is fix-a-flat that bad I wouldn't use it unless you are going to replace the tire. The stuff doesn't spread out evenly, making the tire unbalanced. Plus it's a pain in the a$$ to clean the stuff off of the wheel. I recently had a slow leak in my tire, and it ended up being the valve. I would try and find the leak first before using that stuff!
Re: is fix-a-flat that bad Well.. a ZO6 comes with Fix-a-flat from the factory.. so it cant be THAT bad.. but it is only a temp fix..

is fix-a-flat that bad hey guys. what's the deal with fix-a-flat. i have slow leak the firestone swears they can't find, but my psi seems to magically fall from 30 to 12 ona daily basis. i know f-a-f will plug a small hole, but will i be ruining the tires? thanks

It works great but only has a temporary fix.
My last beater was a 95 Lumina, and I came out to the car at lunch and had a total flat. I used a bottle of fix a flat and it inflated the tire up to about 20psi. Tire was not savable but it saved me from getting a tow.

Re: is fix-a-flat that bad I hate that stuff.... I still work part time (and hang out) at a local garage and I see that stuff quite a bit. The solution does not evenly coat the inside of the tire, when we take the tire off the rim there will be 1-2 cups of liquid that is just siting in the tire that will slosh around and can cause an imballance. The stuff also does no fix all of the posible problems with a leaking tire. When we get tires with this stuff we charge extra for the clean up because it gets everywhere, not hard to remove but it is time intensive.
IMO I would take it somewhere and get it fixed right.
