I usually open the bleeder valve a little, but I also bleed the brakes any time I do any kind of brake work.

meh, my problem was i just couldn't get the c-clamp on good enough to press it(since i had a small one)... Took me FOREVER to do one side... then i figured out how to use the C-Clamp(4 inches) and make it work... took me less then an hour to do the rest..

Good news is the brakes worked as i rolled it down the driveway lol... Drove home, all is well on the western front, I'm use to working on my suby's brakes which are alot easier IMO!

I have tried pressing on each piston and that worked for me. Do it slowly. Also the other ideas are good too.
