Default More info on Hypercoils springs inside... LOOK-->

I had previously posted that the Hypercoils being sold by LG Motorsports and the Hypercoils being sold by Vette Brakes (and formerly being sold by Kenny Brown) were NOT the same springs. (That was the info I had been given by Diane at Hyperco.) After receiving my Hypercoils from LG Motorsports today, I can tell you that they ARE the same springs.

Here are the differences in the 4th Gen F-body springs that Hypercoils makes:

GM001.FSA (Front) 442# +/- 22# @9.3"-8.375"
LG001.FSA (Front) 548# +/- 5% @ 8.900-7.400"
GM001.RSA (Rear) 183# +/- 9.2 @8.59-7.80"

Vette Brakes and Kenny Brown were selling the GM001.FSA and GM001.RSA as a set, and I was told by Hyperco that LGM was selling the stiffer front LG001.FSA and GM001.RSA as a set.

That kind of disappointed me, because I wanted the milder GM001.FSA front springs, but since Vette Brakes is currently asking $299 a set, and KB has stopped carrying them altogether, I figured I'd just suck it up & live with the stiffer LG001.FSA front springs and pocket the $130 difference.

So wasn't I surprised today when my springs arrived, and they are marked GM001.FSA and GM001.RSA... In other words, these are the springs I wanted in the first place, and I just saved $130 on them! WOO HOO!!!!! I checked them to make sure they weren't just mislabeled, too... The free length of the GM001.FSA springs should be 13.94", and the free length of the LG001.FSA should only be 12.55". Sure enough, these springs are almost 14 inches long.

I haven't put them on my car yet, but I'd have to say that based on the spring specs, these are a steal for $169 IMHO. Just for comparison's sake, the front spring rates are comparable to the front springs on the optional Bilstein package on the 2000-02 Camaro SS's. (Those are rated at 223-448 #/in.) The rears still seem like they might be a little stiff for my tastes, but I'm willing to try them... Guess I could always use Hypercoils front springs and cut the stock rears.

Anyway, hope this info is helpful to somebody.

I love my hypercoil/Bilstein setup. No where near too stiff. Go ahead and install the rears, you wont regret it.
