Re: whats SUSPENSION mod would you do first ?????
IMHO, the two suspension pieces which will give you the MOST NOTICEABLE improvement over stock on our cars are weld-on SFC's and SHOCKS. (Can't believe no one has suggested shocks yet! The rebound settings on our stock deCarbons SUCK.) You should be able to get BOTH of these for close to your price range, and you'll have a car that will handle better than stock, and feel better doing it.
Post this over in Handling & Braking, and I think you'll get similar responses. Good luck.

Since you said cornering and launchin, I would have to go with swaybars and LCA's. If you have any money left over then I would get some SFC's.

Subframes-$300-400 installed
Lower control arms--depends
these are the first mods that I would do, and If I could only pick one, it would be the subframes. If you dont do anything else to your cars suspension, get subframes.

I would do SFC's and a MADMAN TQ Arm. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
It has worked great for me. 1.46's 60fts with a M6 Hot Rod. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

The closer the mods are to lugnut the bigger the gains.
with that in mindMy biggest bang for buck mods are :
Sticky tires
performance front end alignment
shocks tuned to match your springs
swaybar swap.
Driving school
I have yet to be beaten by any Fbody in Germany at any autocross or road course with just those mods.

Subframe connectors. This is the single biggest improvement I have done to my car that was really noticable, suspension wise. Converter motor wise.

Subframe connectors and swaybars.
Get weld in SFCs. Global West can be had for less than $200. Anything over $100 to weld them in is tooooo much.
Something like Suspension Techniques 35/25mm set of swaybars can be found on the internet for less than $250. The install is a pretty easy do it yourself-er. Real difficult to screw up and needs basically a couple of socket wrenches and a tq wrench.
$200 SFC
$100 Install
$250 Swaybars
-----
$550 Total
You can get these prices cheaper so you should have AT LEAST $150 left over. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Maybe get a shocktower brace from BMR or Hotchkis. That's a DIY install too!

I called Sam Strano at Stranoparts and asked him the same question. After an hours conversation, he convinced me that I needed shocks and a big bar. He told me to try the setup before I spent more money. I've had the setup on for the past 5 months and the car is awesome.
I would certainly call Sam and talk to him before you make a decision. BTW, I have revalved Bilsteins and an ST 35mm bar.

I woud either get sfc's or the shock and springs route. Those are the 2 mods that I felt the biggest improvement.

I did the Hotchkis Strut Tower Brace First then the SFCs at Speed Inc then the Hotchkis LCAs.
The Spohn TA and PHR are going on with the 9in swap.
