Default fishtailing

Hi guys, I was just wondering which part of the suspension would have the most impact on controlling fishtailing. Would it be the Panhard, LCAs, or maybe even the differential. Is it a combination of all of this. The reason I ask is that, very often, since I got my Yank Tranny and SY3500 converter, if I load up the transmission and go WOT,from a stand still, the rear end will kick out to the left. It's been getting extreme lately to the point where I have the wheel turned 180 Deg. to compensate. Current suspension mods are in the sig. Would better LCAs do the trick? Or, maybe it's an indication that something needs to be replaced?

I may be wrong but none of this will fix the problem I think tires is what you need. I have everything from k-memer,arms up-low, panhard, torque, sway. And I fishtail all the way dow the street tell I hit top of 3rd. That is with the stock 275 tires.Lower arms and torque arm are going to help wheel hop! Just my oppion!

Sounds to me like you need to learn throttle control ... just my opinion ...

see if you have the same amount of air presure in the rear tires. tires, angle of the road, no front sway bar all contribute to this a little. theres nothing realy to worry about. if you go wot from a stop and it turns hard real quick then somethings wrong. all cars ive been in have done this. my 02 ss did this from the factory with 20 miles on the car.

Ok....the new F-bodys (unless you had an slp option) come with Zexel-Torsen "torque biasing" rear differentials. These differentials don't just "lock" the rear end, they use gears to transfer power from the spinning wheel to the one with traction. These are capable of transmitting about 2.3 times as much torque to the wheel with traction as what the spinning wheel is actually transmitting to the ground. In a car with an open differential ("no posi"), you will spin the right rear (the rotation of the driveshaft "lifts" the right rear and the difference in "load" on the rear tires causes a loss of traction on the right rear and that tire will spin. In a car with a zexel-torsen diff, the right rear will spin (but still be putting power to the ground, just not as much) and the differential will transfer power to the left rear (if the right rear is spinning and putting 100 ft lbs of torque to the ground, the left rear may have to deal with 230 ft lbs, and as you add horsepower, this will get worse....200 ft lbs to the right equals 460 to the left) and this will cause the car to drive with the left rear and due to the imbalance, it will swing left. I hope this rambling answer is helpful and not too confusing. Drop me a line with any questions....and try an airbag in the right rear.

Good luck.....

trackbird, I kind of figured it was something like that. I guess the LCAs and torque arm would just make that slip to the left alot more controllable. Plus with the cold air and, most likely, differing tire pressures; it just all adds up to much spinning. Oh, what's throttle control. I have no control. I am controlless.

I agree with what trackbird said. Something else you can try is to move the battery to the right-rear/trunk. That works wonders.
