Default Car hard to steer

I have a 2002 Trans Am. i bought it brand new still only 1800 miles on it. The steering wheel takes a lot of effort. I doesnt matter if the car is hot or cold. Took it back to the dealer and they say its normal I say It steers harder than any car or truck i have ever owned. anybody have any thoughts on whats wrong? Steering pump? Pressure regulator? And how to get the dealer to fix it

my car steers pretty damn easy. Something wrong with yours. You always have the option of taking your car to another dealer. Chevy or Pontiac. Drive the extra miles for another opinion. Then take a trans am off the lot with the shop manager in it. Then take him in your car.

I always thought my car was hard to steer. Definitely harder than any other car I've owned. You get used to it. Maybe work out more?

If you're really concerned, just go test drive another one and see if it's the same. If it's easier, then you DO have a problem.

I upgraded from a 97 V6 Camaro to a 98 Z28 and I found that the Z28 was much harder to steer than the V6 model. What you're feeling is most likely normal, especially considering how young the car is

my car steers hard too, i just got used to it, i think high performance cars cant steer easy, otherwise think what will happen to you on a freeway at let's say 130mph+, wrong move and...

I said the same thing about my '02 WS6. This is my first sports car and I was told it had to be stiffer for the same reason in the response above. I have a '03 Grand Cherokee also and it is the exact opposite. So, switching between the two cars is very intresting.

I used to own a Saturn and I could turn the car with my weaker hand's ring finger alone. When I got the stiffer steering in my Camaro I thought it was great. No more unloaded suspension and the wheels slightly turned as you coming down and steering wheel goes nuts. It may be harder but it's feels more confident.
