Default Traction mod

Ok, I have BFG DRs and I was still spinning pretty bad the last time I went to the track. I'm not changing to ET Streets, so that's not an option (The DRs are still new)

So what would help my launch out the most? (Besides a better driver )

I kinda have an idea, but wanted to hear other's opinion.

TQ arm, LCA's, PHR, Relocation brackets. Other that thoes 4 things, all you can do is practice your launch.

which one should I do first? I can't do them all at once. The boss (aka wife) won't let me spend that much at once.

I am in the same situation as Ackattack and need more traction. Of the products listed which three would be the most effective?

Thanks.

i would probably do LCA's and the drag shocks/springs first. LCA to help ward off the wheel hop and the springs/shocks to increase weight transfer off the line. Taking the front sway bar off at the track probably wouldnt hurt either.

How much PSI are you running your BFG DR's at?? (this could be your problem too)

I started out around 25 psi, and went down to 18 if I remember right.

BFG's dont need asthma (sp) inducing burnouts, how are you warming the tires up? To much burn out can hurt your launches with these tires.

let's see...i think I was launching about 2000 - 2500 rpms by pretty much dumping the clutch (I think that is my problem, and I've been working on that on the street). I did a quick little burnout maybe a second or two.

You need to do a bigger burnout. Get them smoking and then you are good to go.

You work on your launch, i stall higher 3000-3500 and then release the clutch in a slow motion just enought to get it rolling then walk it all the way out. I have a feeling if you work on your clutching you wont have any problems with the tires/traction issues.

DR's and spinning, even if you dump it - at only 2-2.5k it shouldn't matter if you release is slowly or dump it. ..you should just bog. I'd say track prep probably sucked and/or you didn't do any meaningfull burnout. I wouldn't waist hundreds of dollars on suspension at this point.

before you throw any more money at your car, you should just learn to launch it. go a couple of times with regular street tires if you haven't yet. learn to launch on those, then take advantage of the drag radials. right now you are bogging terribly or spinning through second gear. i'm not a professional, just tryin' to help a brother out.

Yeah. work on the launch. same problem that I have. I either bog or spin. sucks because I have yet to get the feel for that middle ground area. I ran a best ET of 13.333 with a 2.3 or 2.4 60' and thats on a street tire. I my trap speed is just shy of 108, thats a 12 sec run right there as long as i can launch right. Dont get sucked into the compensate lack of driving tech with more mods. its easy to do that! work at it and you will hit 12's and when you do that with skill it will feel better than having paid for it!

Definatly do a longer burnout. Around 5 seconds or until you see a little smoke.
