Which weighs more? LT1 or LS1 front brakes? The LS1's are bigger but I heard they are lighter? I am talking about the caliper, spindle, rotor and pads. If they are lighter that just makes me want them for my 94 Z28 even more. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I am getting them for sure then! I just hope going with a different kind of rotor dosent add too much more weight and negate the weight savings.

each front complete assembly minus the upper and lower control arms weigh:
LS1=48 lbs
LT1=53 lbs
This confirms the above statement of a total of 10 lbs overall loss of changing over to LS1 brakes.

How are they lighter? The rotor is bigger so you would think they would be heavier? Is what the caliper is made out of the reason? I dont think the LT1's are aluminum so if the LS1's are, that would explain the weight savings.

Different materials used. The rotor itself s heavier. Other components make up for the difference.
These weights are accurate, I have both sets here in my shop in which I use as mock-ups for setting up bogart rims when I spec out custom work for prototype rims.
