Tip For Fixing The Goodridge Brakeline Kit
I had previously posted a topic the other day about the Goodridge G-Stop Steel Braided Brake Line Kit. The kit was for my 99' Z28 1LE. The kit comes with a set of banjo bolts that have coarse threads, when my calipers use a fine thread bolt. After some brainstorming, I decided to measure the stock bolts that were in the old lines, for dimensions. They are compatible with the new Goodridge lines. When you use the copper washers supplied in the kit, the hole in the bolt mates up perfectly with the banjo on the braided lines. After being a quality control inspector for about 10 years, of inspecting aircraft bolts and fasteners, this will work perfectly. Goodridge should state this in their instructions. The instructions are vague in detail. Thank God I was astute enough to know what I was doing. If I was somebody with less know how I would've been up the creek.
I finshed the installation, bled and flushed the system with Neo Synthetic Super DOT 610, and these babies work perfectly. I now have the pedal feel I was looking for. It is nice firm and tight.
