Breaking in new rotors and pads
There are seemingly a million different ways to do this correctly. Would anyone care to tell me how they did this and how the brakes are holding up? I have my new Autozone rotors and NAPA Carbon Ceramic pads going in.
Thanks

5 to 10 back to back stops from 35mph to 0
Drive 2-5 miles (easy on brakes) to cool them.
3-6 back to back stops from 60mph.
2-5 more miles to cool brakes....
For a street compound pad, you may want to reduce the number of stops by a few....
Good luck!

I have read in past posts that the Napa ceramics are quiet with no dusting. The Raybestos quiet stops are good also, I am using the Raybestos and have no noise and almost 0 dust.

The Napa ceramics list for 100-110. I got them for 75. They are supposed to be excellent pads - good stopping power, very little dust, and quiet.

Re: Breaking in new rotors and pads
Bedding in new pads on unseasoned rotors is a big no no.
Also every pad maufacture has different bedding in procedures for their pads ,It is unbelievable.
For my particular PAGID RS pads it pretty harsh.
Here is the url http://www.pagidusa.com/btcontents.htm
For their sport pad http://www.pagidusa.com/bt_Sportcontents.htm
For passenger car pads http://www.pagidusa.com/Pagidusapassenger.htm
As you can see ,there is 3 different ways of bedding in brake compounds from the same company , whic is entirely different for each class of brake pad. One procedure will not work for all types of compound. You have to go with what the pad manufacturer recommends . If the pad manufacturer has nothing then go with what service manual recommends.
