breaks shake car

i own a 1999 camaro ss... i dont know whats wrong with it right now but when i speed up to around 70-80 and then start slowing down....my car starts to shake really bad... i think it might be coming from the left rear break...but i dunno...has this ever happened to anyone?

Ya, your rotors are warped, don't worry it happens to us all! <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> You can have a machine shop "turn" them or go buy some new ones. If they are stock, I recommend buying new ones. The ones GM put on our cars SUCK!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Yes, your rotors are warped. It happens all the time. I bought new ones a few months ago. Autozone's rotors are really good rotors especially for the money. As 02BlackZ said, GM rotors suck. If you aren't looking for anything high performance, I highly recommend the Autozone rotors. I am extremely happy with them, and I know of many others who feel the same way.

To say it again... the rotors are warped. Mine have warped 3 times in 21k miles.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> However, first off, I'd advise you to check the front rotors. Those are more likely to warp than the rear. When you apply the brakes, does the steering wheel shake? If so it's most likely the front rotors. You can get them turned at any machine or auto shop. However I'd like to add that GM has issued a shim kit for the brakes on my 2002. If you're having a problem with the rotors warping badly/often, I'd say check it out and see if the kit applies to your car. From what my dealer said, it JUST came out recently. my buddy had the same problem on his 2000 ss. one of his rotors was cracked!had to replace his rotor.

Most likely the front rotors are warped. If a rotor is cracked, it makes a distinct noise.

I wouldn't even bother having your stock rotors turned because they'll be warped again before you know it. Just pick up some good aftermarket rotors and be done with it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
