Plated plain rotors??
Plated plain rotors?? Who carries decent rotors that are zinc or cadmium plated for a decent price. I want plain rotors, no slots or holes that have a finish on them that will not rust.

Anyone else have any ideas?? There are tons of rotors on e-bay that are drilled/slotted and plated. I am sure I could get some without drill/slot but they all appear to be cheap cores.

Or if it's rust you're afraid of, you can also opt for some temperature sensitive paint as well. Just when coating, just make sure that you protect the areas of the rotors that will have pad contact. Even with plating, you should be careful since those types of plating will buff off the friction surface area and isn't good for the environment (basically, you don't want that toxic stuff to get into your water supply).
AFA the rust is concerned, it really hasn't affected the performance of the OE sized rotors or my big brake kit.

oh, and not to forget, Centric OE replacement blank rotors have black coated hat and ventilation areas that resist corrosion. I also believe that StopTech offers some similar blanks as well that have a decent black coating.

Thanks Foxxtron, I will check those out. With my wheels you really see the rotors. I don't want to put new ones on and look at rusty crap in a month.
Also, rust between the rotor and hub seems to be a factor in warped rotors. When I got my car the rotors were warped pretty bad. There was major rust build up between the rotor and hub.
Don't OEM rotors have protective paint on them??

Rust doens't cause rotors to warp.. If that were the case my Brembo blanks that I've driven through the entire last winter in chicago should be warped to pieces but they are still going strong. Plating won't stop them from rusting though.. it will just take a little longer for them to rust depending on the driving conditions and how much you drive the car.

AC Delco rotors that came with the Camaro aren't that great for withstanding the warping for long, however when some people improperly bed in their pads, they create uneven pad depostion which will yield excessive runout, which in turn could lead to the actual warping of the rotor.
