Default Do I need the SLP bump stop spacers?

I have an 02 z28 (see sig). I have 17x9s w 275-40 rubber. The car came w/ 16s. I read on SLPs site that these jounce spacers were needed 4 17s or they would rub. I'm doubting that now. I have searched on this topic. My understaning is that some cars (SSs and Firehawks?) have diff bump stops, and need these spacers. I have the yellowish tapered stops. The 17s are the same overall hieght as the 16s, so I dont c y they would rub. I realize they are wider, but short of 315s do I need these? I already have them on, but figure Y give up the travel if they won't rub anyway.

P.S. I'm talking about the rear, and have stock springs w the hose mod.

Get rid of them.

I have a Z28 with the tapered stops (which you should have, or should get if you don't have them) and ran the factory 16's, factory 17's and autocrossed on 315/35-17's (on all 4 corners) and I did all of it without the spacers and using the Z28/V6 stops. No, you don't need them and I wouldn't use them (and there are dozens of other cars that have done the same thing).
