Default Koni DA setup?

Ok, this is possible a stupid question or a repost. I got some brand new DAs for stupid cheap. I was going to go with SAs but I couldn't pass this deal up. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had any experiece with these and what setup they use. I will be driving my car mostly on the street. It's my daily driver for now. Hopefully not for long. I do eventually want to at least do some autoxing with the car as well. It's a 2001 Z28 in case you don't want to read my sig. I have SFCs and H&R springs as well. Thanks for the help in advance.

I ran H&R springs, 35mm front bar, 19mm rear bar and my DA settings were:

Front:

4 sweeps from full stiff for rebound
4 clicks of compression

Rear:

1 1/4 turn of rebound (1.25 turns from full soft)
5 clicks of compression

You may not want to start there, and you may not like my settings when you get there. That's where I wound up, your results may vary. Experiment and see what you like.

Thanks for the info guys. I just wasn't sure if I should start out with the out of box settings. I'll probably start out a little stiffer than out of box and go from there.

Here's the problem with DA's (one of them). Too much to play with for folks who don't know what they are doing.

First, "out of the box" settings are NOT pre-set. You could end up with all different bump and rebound settings if you don't set them yourself.

Second, the rebound range is the very same as in the SA's

Third, full soft on bump is the same as SA's, and IMHO the best setting to use most times, certainly on the street.

Fourth, I *own* my own DA's, but yet run SA's on the car. Less to break, less to monkey with.

Fifth and finally while not a key in this case, DA's do NOT have the provision for the lower spring height.

And yeah, what the hell is the GT/aggressive driving setting exactly? I've never even seen such a statement before. Just curious as I don't have a clue about what settings those really are.

Thanks Sam. Honestly I bought these instead of the SA's because they were $645 shipped. I didn't think I should pass that up. Thanks for telling me about the out of box settings not being pre set. My dad will be helping me with the install. He used to race SCCA (not autox) and stock cars when I was a kid. So he should be able to help me as well.

In your case, you got a hell of a deal. But often you find folks who manage to trip on some for the same or a little more as SA's, and that's not at all worth it IMHO in 99.9% of the cases.

I know you're right. But what's done is done and I have them. I guess I'll just have to learn the hard way.
Oh and I checked the place where I got them recently. They bumped the price up above $1300. I guess they made a pretty big mistake or something.

It's a common mistake, Koni's are priced individually, but generally boxes per pair. They assumed one box was the price, when it really is two shocks in a box. In short, they screwed up and badly. You got them for half-price because of a mistake, and a really bad one on their part.... Happens a lot with companies that don't know anything about Koni's.

Integrity rules. Call and pay the difference. Its not fair for the vendor.

thats the vendors problem, if you dont know what your selling(pricing and parts) then thats to bad. for example, someone thats building a car that doesnt know what there doing.

I'll keep this in mind whenever you post something for sale in the classified forums.

Let me ask you a silly question for my sake since I already know what your answer will be. If you as a seller sold someone something, and later found out that you made a mistake and charged too much, would you call them up and give them a refund?

On a side note: They were listed as being on sale. They were also less than the SAs they had listed. How do I know that they weren't trying to clear out inventory?
