Default Strano susp upgrades + Road Atlanta = WOW!!!

After doing the suspension upgrades suggested by Sam, I took my car to Road Atlanta this weekend. Because I was in Class C, I wasn't expecting that much, following a 3.2 Audi around, but boy was I mistaken. I got to drive the living crap out of my car. Talk about an adrenaline rush! I threw my car into turns at 70 mph, hit 120 on the back stretch, hit the rev limiter in 3rd on the front strectch (scared me as I didn't know what it was at first). I spent the whole week before, putting the Strano springs, Koni's, adj PHB bar getting the car ready. It is such a beast on that track. I tried my best, but never lost control of it, never broke loose, never really got unsettled. All that will zero driving skill. Sam must know something. I have a 1 1/2 lap video of me all over a $90k Porsche. Will try to post when I figure out how. It was incredible. I just wish I had done my BRAKES!!! They were gone after 3 laps. It was a little unnerving. Had to conserve whenever so I could have some to stop me at the end of the backstrech. Brakes haven't been the same since.

I spend most of my time babying and pampering my car, but I abused her like crazy and then drove it 4 hrs home and she never balked one time. Got to love these cars. I can't wait to go back in December with brakes for Class B where I can go at my own pace.

Many thanks to Sam for helping upgrade my car to way beyond my driving skill, and to the Panoz Racing School for a great day. It is the best $275 I have ever, ever spent. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who wants to safely push their car!

Very, very happy to hear things worked out so well. Looks liek the springs are working as intended (actually, better!).

Thanks for the update!

I think this car could do so much more with seat time, a brake upgrade(I will be calling you again Sam), and BFGs instead of Sumitomos on the rear. I am so impressed with my car. Need to find a place to get some more seat time before December!

Yep, I knew that would happen with stock brakes (I think I might have even mentioned that to you at some point). Sounds like a hard sell when I tell folks their brakes won't be up to the job, but brakes are important things to have.

Sam, I have the konis, your hotchkis springs, adjustable phb, 35/22 hollow sway bars, edlebrock torque arm. Also I have updated to the C5 rotors with the stock calpers (used the brackes that mount to the stock location) and carbotech xp10 pads and 600 motul fluids. I had to goto corvette 17 rims to fit over the bigger rotors so new kumo exsta mx on all 4 corners. This all seems to work OK but still would not mind more brakes for turn 1 at mid america motorplex (hard right after long front straight). What do you suggest???
