I have a 98 SS and I'm considering removing my power steering cooler. I know these only come on the SS's and not the Z28's. I drive around on 275's but I'm not into road racing or anything like that. Will it hurt anything not to have it there?

 

I think you should be good, the PS cooler was an extra option.

 

what is the RPO code for that extra PS cooler ? Do I have one ? 98 WS6 .

 

It could be had as an option on the Z28's, mine had one from the factory.

Just look at the top radiator hose and see if you have a metal tube with a "flange" in the middle, that's the cooler assembly.

I took the lines coming in and out of it (Too close to the Procharger pulley). So far so good.

 

I found out i have one on my 2002 formula. I accidentaly punched a hole in one of the return lines and had to us jb weld on it. I thought powersteering coolers only came with ss and ws6 too. But proved myself wrong.
