Default An interesting squeak... wheel/axle bearings?

Hello all. Im calling out for some help. My rear-end is making an interesting and ominous sound. When driving, i hear a very constant squeak coming from my drivers-side rear wheel. Im relatively sure that its not the pads/rotors. Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. The sound is constant and cyclical... almost like its being rubbed constantly. the noise varies under different loads and at different speeds. Which leads to my question (an obvious newbie here... )

Is there a difference between axle bearings and wheel bearings? If so, which do you guys think it is? Im redoing pads/rotors in the next couple weeks, and i'm probably gonna do new shocks/springs too. The car just hit 98,500 miles.

Any ideas?
