PA racing k-member for the street?
thinking of lightening the front end of my car (and with an iron block, it sure needs it!)
with lt1 motor mounts a PA racing k-member is $339 right off the web-site.
my question to you is, what is the fitment like (obviously nothing is perfect) but more importantly, will this survive with street use?
a friend of mine (and a member of the board) has a 3rd gen car that he races (low 6's in the 1/8th, N/A) with PA parts and seems to like it, but it US a drag car.

Hello,
That K-Member isn't built for street use, or at least it has proven itself not to be.
We do make a K-Member set-up that is designed to handle all street abuse and daily driving. It is priced more at $431.99 (on sale til 11-17) but you can see how much more work is involved in it. Please take a look at the link below and if you have any questions please ask and I will be glad to help.

Thank you!

my car probably spends 99% of it's time on the street, and has always been drove to and from the track when I go (except for the last time when it broke)
I figured that was a huge part in the pricing of k-members and such... seeing as the hardest hit the front suspension in a drag car will take is when the front wheels come back down to the ground, I guess there'd be no need in adding more structural support to them (as well has added weight)

I have about 1000 miles with the PA kmember on the street at 1000 rwhp...still in 1 piece.
Looking at the UMI piece, it looks very nicee, if I was to ever change, that would be what I would run.

Hey mighty,
I have a PA k-member with non adjustable upper arms and the heim lowers. It has been on my car for a year.I have had no complaints at all with it holding up.But as far as fittment goes it was a pain in the a$$.Oh yea and there powder coating....Sucks ..real bad.To the piont that i think i would have been better off using krylon as it would have held up better.I run 19/8.5&19/10 with 245-35-19/295-35-19 wheels and tires. It also has the qa-1 coilovers so thuis thing is as harsh as it possibly can be,still have no problems with it not holding up on the street, this car has yet to be on the track. So i will say you have nothing to worry about. Also I was very unhappy with a few things as i have stated and i still would recomend them for there strenght.I will be taking the car to the road course and the drag strip as soon as i finish the ls-2 swap.
