Default Torque arm bushing

I can't get the top bolt to line up at all on this damn thing. I have the clamshell zip tied closed and I can get the bolt through the inner and outer bracket, but I can't get the bolt to thread into the tailshaft for the life of me. I have one jack under the trans and one under the rear, tried an infinite set of combinations, I just can't get it. This is driving me nuts.

Anyone ever tried getting at this from the inside of the car? Removing the console and the shifter?

I got to it from under the car. Just needed an open end box end 15mm. You can only move it a little bit at a time.

Also used a vise grip to hold it closed.

Yea Ive tried vice grips to hold it closed. The problem is that the even with all the other hardware not installed, I can't get the damn bolt to line up with the trans.

I didnt cut any tabs either. This install is very annoying. Just got to take your time and get the bolt some what threaded.

Messed with it again last night, same problem. I said f*ck it, took the bracket off and oversized the top hole in the inner bracket. Went back together immediately.

I ended up having to bend the top bracket slightly to get it to fit.

I had to fight with the poly bushing that came
with my new TA (especially until I figured out
I had it on backwards). But it went into the stock
clamshell with a just-right line-up and a small
crowbar against the tunnel wall. Once in it sat
OK without any clamping. Just a tight squeeze.
