Default Worn out shocks/springs, want to upgrade but lowering is not an option

I have a 02 WS6. It has 70,000 miles on it and the front left squeaks TERRIBLY just driving down the road. Also, the car has a pretty spongy ride compared to what it had new. The only racing I do is straight line so I don't need a killer setup, just somthing alot more firm. I would love to lower the car too but it's not an option anytime soon because the town i go to college in already scrapes up my car alot at stock height. Is it possible my springs could need replacing too? I read in some other threads that it could be bushings that are making my car squeak so when i'm having the new shocks installed, I'll have HPE(most likely) check out all that stuff. It seems like Bilstein HDs or the Bilstein revalves would be my best choice but would i even need the revalves since i don't need to lower the car & i dont race? Any recommendations? thanks

Bilstein HD's or Koni SA's for a little adjustment

Squeaks are more likely the bushings for the sway bar,
maybe the A-arms though I don't hear much (heh) on
that as a problem area. Start with lubing the sway bar and
endlink bushings and see what the noise does. Cold brings
out the squeaks in rubber.

If ride height hasn't changed then the springs are not worn
out. Shocks wear fast when they're cheaply made stockers.
A "lifetime" shock including a lifetime of it being just what
you want even if you change your mind, has some appeal.
Though financial is not part of it.

Fair bit of work and/or $ to get the fronts done so it's not
just about bargain hardware. Though we could use a guinea
pig if you wanted to try a set of heavy duty econo-whatever
and see what the mass market has for the 4th gen platform
by now. Who knows, maybe Monroe HDs damp it plenty good.
Could happen, just nobody seems to expect it or say they
tried with such-and-such results.

It can, however for what you're looking to improve, you're really not demanding much at all, so I say that your safest bet is to concentrate on shocks first. Once you get newer shocks, then slowly hunt for worn suspension bushings, bearings, and mounts. As old as these cars are and possibly how hard they're driven, a culprit of the "boat float" are primarily the shocks and the suspension bushings, bearings, and mounts, which are all too often neglected when upgrading/modifying suspension.
