Question Which Pads Leave The Least Dust?!?!?!?

I want one final thread to help me out with my choice of brake pads. I want to know which pads (by experience) are the best as far as dust is concerned. I have to keep the TTII's clean

P.S. Only post if you have experience with pads.......any additional info would be very helpful, like which rotors you had with the setup too.

Thanks guys

-James

I have Bosch Ceramics in the front with drilled/slotted rotors. A lot less dust in front.

World Car Ceramics in the back with drilled/slotted rotors. Can't really tell cuz backs never got too dusty.

Ive only had Bendix semi-matallic and Hawk ceramic pads. Ive never tried any other pad so the only one I could vote for would be the HAwk ceramic. The semi-matallics I had were TERRIBLE. tons of dust and the made ALOT of noise. The Hawk are great. low dust even with slotted rotors (which i've come to understand are like cheese graters for pads).

I think the problem is most people around here are more concerned with stopping very quickly. Pads designed to produce very little dust dont usually stop as well as pads that produce more dust.

Least dust = stock pads. Sorry if that's not the answer you wanted...

Stock pads are by far the best for low dust. As an added bonus they won't be as hard on the bling bling cross drilled and slotted rotors either!

I recommend cleaning your wheels on a regular basis to keep them nice and shiny.

The most dust free pad I've ever had is from Auto Zone....The ceramic break pads they offer. Very little dust is ever produced. However, I think a lot of other pads on the market produce a lot more stopping power. But if dust is your only concern get yourself some ceramic pads!

Thumbs up

I've installed the Hawk Ceramic pads on my car along with a full set of Baer Eradispeed Plus slotted & crossdrilled rotors at 5400 miles. I went with the ceramics because of the low brake dust they claim to have and because my car is mainly used for shows.(Trailer Queen I quess you would say). Honestly, I haven't put enough miles on them since installed but, I can tell there is less brake dust than with the original pads. Hope this helps. And they seem to stop as good as stock pads in my opinion. On a side note: I bought a new set of front brake calipers from GM and had them polished to a mirror finish and on the rears a bought the chromed aluminum brake caliper covers. Very happy with the looks & performance.

i have the hawk ceramic and they leave very little dust. and the stopping power over stock was a noticable difference.

A ceramic brake pad should not leave as much dust as the others, that's what they clam anyways. i run AC Delco ceramic pads on my car and don't get hardly any dust on my wheels.

Virtually no dust with Hawk HPS pads here, have them on the Camaro and the truck.

We currently have the front pads for $72 + s/h and rear for $60.25 + s/h
