Are you planning on dropping your vehicle that low with the 18" wheels???

Man, if this is for your car, then I'mma gonna feel sorry for you and your LT's, as they're going to be scraping BIG TIME!

My car is lowered 2.25"-2.5" with 18's on it and doesn't hit a thing. The LT's have no marks on them whatsoever. The ORY will hit on ocassion, but nothing too terribly bad. Car never bottoms out or scrapes fender wells or anything. Daily drive it 50+ miles a day.

No problem!

18 inch wheels will raise the frame/exhaust .5" higher than if it had 17" wheels. I do have my ws6 lowered with the pro-kit and have 18's. The y-pipe hangs alittle low and does hit occasionally but mostly on the clamps and brackets; nothing on the headers.

Im not even lowered and I scrape bad on bumps if I go too fast over them.. It scrapes hard and sounds like death.... But Ir just hits my LM resonator or my clamps. My ORY or Lts dont scrape..

That's the funniest thing I have read today!!

Wheel Diameter has nothing to do with raising or lowering a car, It's the height of the tire sidewall or the tire OD that affects the ground clearance.

It's called Plus 1 or +1 sizing where you go up 1" in wheel diameter but go down to a lower aspect ratio tire so the wheel gets bigger but the tire OD does not change at all, thus the ride height doesn't change. (nor does your speedometer)

example >> 275/40/17" tire has the same OD as a 275/35/18" tire so no change in ride height.

HAHA I know someone already hit on this, but my god who taught you that?

Take this for example. The tires and wheels I had before versus what I have now and their overall diameters.

275-40-17 - 25.6614" tall

275-35-18 - 25.5787" tall

Yes I have a 1" larger wheel now. Yet I still have the same width tire and virtually same diameter. Please do your research before you say something like that. Giving someone wrong information like that could cause an un-knowledgable person on the subject some real problems.

First off, nice looking car man!

Second, are you running stock manifolds, or some sort of a header? Any problems with ground clearance?

I am running Pacesetter headers with ORY and Borla exhaust. I will be eventually changing the headers 2 Kooks but that is next year prolly. But no clearence problems, i can get over most stuff, only thing is speed bump if i hit the straight on it loads the suspension all at once and it scrapes a little (If you get what i am tryin 2 say), so i take all bump at a angle now and have not had a problem.

Right on. I'm going with Pacesetters also, and once those are on, I'm saving up a lot of cash and doing wheels and lowering at the same time. I'm also going with 18" Z06 with the Pro-kit, so it's good to know you have minimal problems.
