Default Adj. Pan-hard rod and Torque Arm advice.

I picked up a set of BMR LCAs and BMR Adj. pan hard rod the other day, and my girl got me a BMR adj. torque arm for Christmas. Me and a bud will be putting them on Monday night. Never done anything like this, but my friend is a very experianced body and frame guy. Does anyone have any advice they think is important before I start?

Make sure the car is level and off the ground while doing the LCA's, Panhard,Torque arm. Make sure the pinion angle is correct. Usually negative 2 is perfect.
When doing the panhard bar, once the stock one is off, get the new Adj. one as cloe to the same length as possible so your rear end isnt off more on one side.
Use Red lock tight on the adjustment areas to lock it together.

BMR sent the tool with the torque arm, and that's what I'm going to use.

I would not use red lock tite, if he ever needs to make an adjustment he wont be able to get it off/it will be very difficult. The blue loctite will work just fine. The red should only be reserved for times when there is almost no chance it will ever need to be removed or adjusted.

Actually, you only want to set your new panhard bar to the same length as the OE just for a starting point. After you get everything in place, get two pieces of fine string or some fishing line, about 2 ft. long. A plumb bob will also work, if you have one (or two, to make it easier).

At the end of the string, tie a couple of hex nuts, to act as weights. Using some masking tape, carefully tape the string over the sides of the rear fender. Do this so the string goes down past the hub cap, center cap, etc. of the back wheels. Adjust the lenght of the panhard bar until the string is equidistant from both hub caps. The rear end is now centered, which is what you want.

To do this really accurately, make this adjustment when the gas tank is half full, so you're averaging the ride height.

Good luck!

Well fellas', just finished it up tonight. It was pretty easy also. The worst part was getting the front torque arm bracket that bolts up to the rear of the tranny off (which really wasn't that bad). The Panhard Rod and LCAs were a snap!

Thanks for the advice fellas!
