Default Air ride or lowering springs/shocks

If you had to do it all over again, what would you guys go with?
Air ride or lowering springs with shocks? I heard that cars with lotsa mods should stay away from air ride is the true?

I'm interested in this too. I never hear anything about these air suspension systems used in autox or road racing. I saw it on Horsepower TV once (not that I use that show as a basis for making any mod decisions or anything, lol). Is there drawbacks/advantages about the air bag systems?

It was either CHP mag or GMHTP mag, they did an article on our cars equipped with Air Ride suspension, they invited them to show up at a road race course and the drivers were surprised that the Camaro's handled very well...

That's about it though, don't remember the prices or weight or anything like that.

IMO its a considerable amount of weight to add with the compressor air tank solenoids and etc. The system itself is not cheap and would prove to be more problematic in the future than standard setup.
