Default UMI Subframe Connectors

So I Just got my set of boxed-style weld-in 2-point SFCs welded in on Tuesday morning. I noticed immediately when I left the shop that if I go over a relatively large bump (or railroad tracks) and sometimes on a shift, the driver's side rear chatters a bit. I talked to the shop and he said he talked to another guy that has SLP connectors and his does the same thing and he can't think of a way around it.

Any of you experience the same thing? Is there anything I can do about it? He said to come back in a month to check on the welds so if you guys can think of something, maybe I can bring it up.

Is it just driver's side for you too? I can't figure out why it's just one side...

Hello,

Its the rear control arm bolts not being tight enough. Our SFC sandwiches the rear control arm mount, when they tighten the mount it will require more pressure to compress the bushing. Try tighting the drivers side bolt some more and the noise should go away. We have found even up to 90 ft lbs may be needed.

This is also in the installation instructions

Hope that helps,
Ryan

I had the same problem untill I finally installed new LCA's and the noise/rattle stopped...apparently I got it tight enough.

Sweet deal! Thanks, UMI. When I go stop in for them to check the welds, I'll tell them to tighten the bolt.

I had this done at Knopp's Performance two blocks from my house. I know a lot of the guys that work there and hang out there drive either F-Bodies or older muscle cars so I figured I'd give it a try. I would definately go there again if I need something done.
