Default best shocks for every-day driving/best ride quality

Im looking into a new set of shocks/struts for my DD. The car never sees the track. I'm just wanting a great set thatll give me an extremely smooth ride quality. I still have the stock SS springs on my car and dont plan on lowering the car so would a set like the Bilstein HD's do the job?

I just installed my Bilstein HD's and am happy with them. I wouldn't consider them harsh at all.

Huge difference in ride! Although, I was riding on the stock DeCrappins with 100k on them. In my opinion, they are a good shock, not great like Koni's, but good. Most people will agree, the HD's should have been what the car came with from the factory.

Bilstein HD's will give you exactly what you're looking for with a couple of caveats. First, Bilstein has changed the valving on the rear shocks for the worse; talk to Sam Strano who will get you set up with proper 3rd gen rears. Second, with your wheel/tire combo, you're never going to have an "extremely smooth ride." There's a reason some of us stick with our good ol' factory 16's.

I agree, 18s gotta be hurting your ride quality.

I would/did spend the $ for the Konis, especially if ride quality is an issue. You get what you pay for. I'm not one to spend big $ on everything, but this is one area you will b sorry if you cheap out.

Are there more than one type of Koni SA? Or are you saying it moves up from there, as in you could do the DA (which is obviously more)?
