It really depends what you plan to do with the car. If you plan to just mainly drive the car on the street, any shock on your list will do. I went with the KYB Gas-A-Just. Just change them out around every 30k-40k and you should be good.

Well... aftermarket springs greatly reduce your shock choices. rather, you can expect to pay more for sufficiently valved dampers. High spring rates (as found in lowering springs) require well made dampers in order to control them for any reasonable amount of time (that is, if you want them to last more than a couple thousand miles).

In other words. Koni SA's are the "cheapest" shocks that will work for you (unless you want revalved bilsteins) They are relatively expensive compared to the mediocre shocks most people are familiar with, but there are actually lots of way more expensive shocks out there. Motons and Penskes that can cost thousands of dollars a set.

Hi,

I suppose you will end up with the KYB's, which in my opinion would be a bad choice. I have Koni SA's now and Strano springs.... a long time ago I had Eibach Sportlines and SLP Bilstein's.... best thing I did was to get rid of them... both.

Koni SA's can be bought from Stranoparts (Sam).... excellent customer service

Penske's can be bought from Unbalanced Engineering (Jason).... I've not dealt with him, but I hear really good things about their support also.

Moton's..... if youv'e got loads of money (in the region of $5K I think).

Regards,

Please don't get GasAJust shocks. I have a set, and they're currently doing what they were apparently designed to do: sit on a shelf in my garage, to be used only if one of my Koni SA's dies and I absolutely NEED to drive my car somewhere. I ran them for a few thousand miles with Hotchkis springs and they weren't up to the task. I'm sure they'd be even worse with Sportlines.

You need 4th gen koni's up front, Single Adjustable is best for most people. You can use either 3rd or 4th gen rears (3rd gens are cheaper but must be taken off to adjust).

Should be about 500 for the front pair, 300 for the rear pair (4th gen) at least thats about what I paid

I would opt for some revalved bilsteins myself to match those springs.. and save a few hundred.

No.

For Koni SA's, you can adjust the rebound. Koni Double Adjustables let you adjust both compression and rebound.

On the Koni SA's, the front shocks have two perch locations: stock and lowered. There are not multiple perches on the rears, since the springs don't mount that way. The Bilsteins have one perch.
