auto cars are known to do some *** wiggling when they shift from 1-2. just shakes a bit back and forth..
and no its not tire spin, its something in the suspension that allows the car to shift sideways.

Not sure if this is what you are feeling, but I did notice that the Torsen would slither from side to side when traction was challenged. I think that it is the nature of the torque sensing moving from one wheel to the other. My 12 bolt with a Eaton HD limited slip just steps to one side and stays there. I have heard a number of people comment on this with the Torsen diff.
This is just a thought.

I think this is the torque reaction making either squat or
rise of the rear, being translated to lateral motion by the
Panhard bar angle (arcsine of squat changes angle, cosine
of angle changes rear end position under the car).

yeah i got the same problem, my rear "wriggles" back n forth all the time, and it gets more noticable the faster i go. it happened after i replaced the lower control arms. how do we keep the movement under control?? sway bars? relocation brackets, panhard ?? i think my torque arm is bent to hell too

my 94 trans am did it the car had an A4 trans in it and when it was on the floor and shifted from first to second gear the car would jerk to the right real hard and the car felt like it was wobbling side to side i thought something was wrong so i had a guy from work follow me and i did the same thing i normally do and he said when the car shifted it was spinning the tires and it was leaving black marks on the road like 20 feet long so i found my experience with that was the tires were spinning and the rear was stepping out to the right a lil under full throttle hope that might help.
