brake caliper question....
as i was going to work, had the car towed, but the brake line tore off and it has been leaking....what happens if all the fluid leaked out????what more damage do i have with in the breaking system....as for now, i have to replace the caliper, wheel, tie rod end, brake line. Bleed the entire system. You want to do this anytime the system is allowed to be exposed to air, for a variety of reasons that are immaterial to your current plight.
Bolt up the new caliper, secure the new line and bleed as normal. No worries.

There is no reason to spend money on better brakes unless you arent satisfied with your current brakes. If you arent that by all means do it. I myself am doing the C6 Z51 brakes on my T/A.
I will agree with Big_D on brakes being the most important part of the car.
