Question Moser VS Strange

trying to make up my mind on a new rear for my 02 SS. right now its pretty soon going to be a heads and cam car with maybe a 100 shot. later on id like to rebuild the motor and put twins on it. i want a 4.10 or 4.11 gear. ive heard good things about both moser and strange and was wondering what do you think of them in comparison?

i heard the new Dana's are supposed to be really good but ive also heard great things about the 9 inches and 12 bolts.

whos got the best pricing on rears?

If your comparing the 12 bolt I prefer strange. The TA bolt holes go all the way through so even if the nuts back off you'll still have the bolt in place. It's just like the stock 10 bolt.

The moser rear end uses 4 bolts, 2 from the top and 2 from the bottom. The bottom ones are prone to backing out and falling off.

9" or strange S60. The S60 doesn't offer some of the gear ratios that the 9" does though.

dont get a moser 12 bolt that for sure, i had nothing but problems from were the torque arm mounts, orderd my 9 inch now so lets see how it works, I know the moser 9 inch changed the design so the bolts would not back out. the 9 inch has more gear options and r ready to ship in 2 days, cant go wrong either way

aluminum is for beer cans, not driveshafts.

Get as much rear end as you need. That being said, go with a strange 12 bolt. I think the 9 inch and especially the S60 are overkill. The 9 inch is only a good idea if your trying to run a diff or gear thats not available with a 12 bolt.

If you have the money, carbon fiber is really nice (I like mine). Aluminum is all you'd ever really need though...either way you go, I'd recommend Precision Shaft Technologies for the manufacturer.

I'm going 3.5" aluminum I think. Brands include Moser, Denny's, PST (above), and a local place that I'm buying my 9" from makes them as well, all priced between $330 and $400

Moser and I believe Denny's also offer a 4" aluminum ds, but that seems a bit overkill. Moser's is $440-450.

I have the Denny's Nitrous Ready shaft in my car with no problems at all. I also chose to get the Strange billet 1350 slip yoke on it because I twisted the slip yoke pretty bad on my aluminum shaft. I have seen a few 3.5" aluminum driveshafts break locally, but is all up to you on which one you would prefer. If you are not going to be putting out a lot of power and launch the **** out of your car, then I would probibly just go with the aluminum shaft.

Denny's Nitrous Ready and Moser 12 bolt (33 spline) both have a lifetime warranty on breakage.

I'm extremely pleased with my Strange 12-bolt ... hardly any noise wahtsoever after 12,000+ miles. Also have PST 3 1/2" aluminum driveshaft and it's well-balanced and true ... pleased with it, as well.
