Don't know. We just bench fit everything. Didn't bother looking into the lines since we couldn't find wheels to work.

Looks like if we do need to run spacers, Would it be better to use a wheel adapter? or is it better to use extended studs with spacers?

That is determined by the thickness you need. Typically 3/4" is the thinest adapter you can get.
Adapters are as strong as the stock setup.
Spacers only add more stress and will never be as strong as stock.

Upgrade in what way? Only a caliper swap?

If so, you need to see if your rotor thickness is 32mm like the f-body, vette and CTS-V. If it is, then you might be able to use an adapter bracket of some kind to mount these calipers.

Whoa, your getting ahead of yourself. Do you know if it will fit your rotors?

If so, then you will need to make your own brackets or draw up the plans and have a machine shop make them.

I personally don't see why you would want to do this. You may not even feel a difference between these 4 piston units and the stock 2 piston. Do you race this vehicle? If not, then you might be better off with the stock calipers with a larger diameter rotor. I know there are companies that offer those kits.

[QUOTE=JasonWW;9429740]OK, big news folks. It's been confirmed that the CTS-V Brembo calipers are a direct bolt on to the LS1 spindles when using the 14" vette rotor.

So if you already have the room for them, this will be a really badass $500 upgrade. The only thing it needs is a few thin washers to space the caliper out a little.

QUOTE]

How thick are these thin washers supposed to be?

OMG, maybe you should leave this to a proper mechanic.

I screwed up earlier. Our rotors are 32mm thick. I made corrections.

I am a level apprentice right now, but I just prefer to have all the parts I need before I start anything.

BTW, what choices are there for rotor brands? I can only find DBA, and OEM gm ones for the c6 z06? Does brembo make blanks for the c6z06?

Just making sure this will work, I have a 99 z28 with stock brakes up front, i wanted to run 13in vette rotors, and the cts-v calipers with 17" c5 z06 rims. Will there be any problems, can i get the normal adapters they make to put c5 z06 calipers on?

Have you actually read this thread? I'll save you the trouble...what you want won't work. All this stuff has been covered in great detail. Not to mention C5 Z06s don't clear ****.

Well I test fitted my C6ZO6 18x9.5 56mm offset wheels with the 14" rotor with ZO6 calipers did'nt fit. I needed about a 1/4' then some. I fitted my rear wheels 18x10.5 with 58mm offset and it sat flush with the hub but was still hitting. A 3/16 spacer would work and they fit but those are my rear wheels, lol. I measured from the outside rotor to the spokes and I have 2 1/8" clearance and from the inside of the rotor I have 1 3/4'' to thr spokes. How much shorter is the CTSV calipers than the ZO6 caliper?

well i have pretty good spoke to caliper clearance with my factory 10 spokes, well lol approximate measure about 1 finger. with some right sized wheel spacers i might be able to fit these. if only those damm calipers were cheap enough to buy just for testing

If I go from the 18x9.5 56mm offset to a 18x9.5 with a 40mm offset, would it clear the ZO6 calipers. I am not so educated with wheels but Im thinking it will since the mounting pad of the 40mm wheel will be farther from the spokes,am I correct?
